Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day: A Celebration of Pets

As pet owners ourselves, we know just how special our furry friends are – they’re truly a part of our families. Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, taking place each year on August 28th, is the perfect time to celebrate the pets who have passed and cherish the memories of fun times we shared together. Here are some ideas for celebrating rainbow bridge pets - and a little dedication to our special pup Dee!

Celebrating Dee: The Inspiration Behind Inkopious

Dee the Mini Bulldog

As some of you may know, our Mini Bulldog Diesel, or 'Dee' as we liked to call her, was the inspiration behind Inkopious. And for that reason, she's a very special pooch indeed!

A shout out to Dee for the inspiration she provided - her memory also lives on through our Grumpy Reindeer Bulldog design!

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day: How to Celebrate Rainbow Bridge Pets

1. Create a Memorial Space

You could create a small memorial space in your home or garden dedicated to your pet. This could include items such as framed photos of your favorite memories with your pet, a candle, a framed print of your pet, perhaps a small garden statue if you'd like it to be situated in your backyard.

2. Plant a Tree or Plant

Planting a tree or plant dedicated to your pet can symbolize their continued memory. You can enjoy watching the plant grow for years to come.

3. Donate in Their Name

Making a donation to an animal shelter or animal charity in honor of your pet is a meaningful way to help out animals in need while honoring your furry friend's legacy.

4. Create Art or Keepsakes

Expressing your feelings through art and crafts can be therapeutic, as well as producing something that you can cherish. This is something that could help younger members of the family to channel their emotions too. You could paint a portrait of your pet, write a poem, or create a scrapbook filled with memories of your pet - kids would enjoy getting involved in this activity. Check out our Pinterest to find fun pets craft inspo.

5. Get A Custom Pet Portrait

If you're not feeling the artsy vibes, you could commission someone else to create a drawing for you. We offer a draw my pet service where every portrait is hand-drawn by us - from our family to yours!

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day offers a chance to celebrate all pets who are forever in our memories. As we remember our furry friends, we cherish the joy they brought into our lives. It's an honor to create portraits and apparel collections that help the memories of our pups, cats, and other animals to live on, so here's to you the #Inkopiouscrew and your precious pets of the past, present and future!
