3. Near Appliances

It’s best to avoid spaces situated next to large, noisy appliances, such as washers or dryers. The noise from appliances such as these can keep your cat from wanting to do their business. You don’t want to find any surprises in your bed from an unhappy cat!

4. Next to Each Other

Unless you’ve chosen enclosed litter boxes, putting two open boxes right next to one another is just like having one box. If you have more than one cat, there may be issues over privacy, territory, and even bathroom bullying.

5. Far Away

For those who live in a multi-story home, keeping a box on every floor is recommended. If this seems like too much of an ask, make sure to keep enough boxes on the level where you spend the most time. You can also take note as to which boxes your cat tends to favor and on which level.
