Musicians

Trending music-inspired cat names in 2022 included Doja Cat, trending up 315%, Eilish (182%), Miley Cyrus (182%), and Cardi (82%).

Tech

As technology has become such a major part of our lives, it’s had an influence on cat names too. Sim (182%), Data (112%), Zoom (71%), and Cortana (52%) were all trending in 2022.  

Disney-Pixar

Disney-Pixar was a particularly popular source of inspiration for cat names in 2022, especially the movie Encanto. The name Mirabel was trending up a whopping 932%. Other names include Luisa (249), Zurg (182%), Tigrou (82%), and Bruno (79%).

Covid

Whereas the names Covid and Fauci were trending down for dogs in 2022, the opposite was true for cats, with Covid up 62% and Dr. Fauci up 82%.
